Vampire edit & Heal brush

 In this lesson I learned how use different tools on photoshop to change the image on the right to the image below it to create a vampire affect.
 I used the brushes tools along with the magnetic lasso to create the change of colour to the face and to create the teeth.










On these bottom two images I am demonstrating how I had learned to use the healing and cloning tools on photoshop. By using the healing tool to go over the spots and remove them as I used the cloning tool to copy a clear piece of skin across them so that the face would all look clear I was able to edit the image so it seemed the spots had been removed.

Disability indesign

This was the first document I made when working with in-design. I created the disability DPS as I had already researched the topic for folder work so I included my case study into disability in the media, into my DPS. When working on this I learned how to work with the different tools in in-design. I placed a background into my DPS and then started working on the other features. Getting to grips with placing images into image boxes and then creating boarders around them was something I knew that would come in handy when it came to producing my final DPS. I used the text boxes to place my case study into and then began using the margin guides to show me where I should place my text boxes so that they would fit the page how I wanted.
 I tilted the images I had placed in and then added a breakout box by placing another image box in the DPS and importing the image of the paper. I titled this slightly also and added a drop shadow to add dynamism to the DPS. I created my title in photoshop and imported it into the DPS by placing it into another image box and giving it a transparent background. I did this as photoshop offered more options for me to be playful with my title. All the skills I learned throughout my initial DPS creation I knew I could use when it came to creating my final DPS so the making of this helped me to be ready for my final product.

In the third week of my production I was creating the final product. I used the indesign and photo-shop programmes to make my front cover and DPS. I used a range of the skills I had acquired throughout the year to put my final product together.This is the final design of my front cover that I submitted. At this point I was organised with the materials I needed to create my product and just had to start creating it. I placed my image into photo-shop and then began working on the sell lines and the features I needed to add to make it look like a professional magazine front cover. Using the text tool and the fonts I had installed I created the sell lines, name of the magazine, strapline and other features you can see here. As I knew where I wanted the features to be placed and how I wanted it to look I managed to get through some of the cover quite quickly. I added the image and strapline along with the title placement and the 'exclusive' section aswell as the bar you can see on the left hand side and then had some of my sell lines ready to include. At this point I had a week left until the deadline day so I believed I had enough time to be finished within.  

   

This is when I began working on my final DPS I used the skills I had learned in my first in-design work so I knew how to create a DPS. I had the text boxes and image boxes ready so all I had to do was place in my article and images. I started with the images and made them the size I wanted and gave them the rotation I wanted them to have. At this point I had only a draft of my article so I firstly included that so I had a idea of how my final product was going to look then I made the necessary changes to my article and included the updated version in my final product a few days later and it left my with time so that I can do the final manipulations to my project.






At this point I went back to making the finishing touches on my front cover I used the text affects to have the text alignment make the text read from the side it was at either left or right and made sure all the strokes around the texts were the same size. I had the colour scheme kept the same across my front cover and made the left side text alternate between black text and white and vice versa and then red and white on the right side. I believed this text the texts fresh as although some of them had the same look they were never repeated next to each other. I also made some words different colours so they would stand out more and added the sell buttons at diagonal opposites on the front cover so they complimented each other. With 2 days left I started to notice that just making gradual little tweaks to my work made it look aesthetically better.  

This left me time to move around the images and text to make sure they were in the place I wanted them to be on my DPS. I created my caption boxes and moved the kicker to various positions to see which I liked best before deciding on the best font for them and where they were best placed. Although I did the final pieces of my DPS work the penultimate day I still felt confident I had achieved the look I was aiming for on my final DPS. I had completed my front cover and had already moved it into the first page on the DPS file so that the spread was ready. I made the final adjustments to my breakout box by changing the font in it and making it tilt into the text so it kept the readers eye on the article. Although on the final day when it came to uploading my product I encountered an error as one of the texts I had been using on my DPS was copyright so could not be exported, this left me a little problem but I had left myself with enough time so find another font that would be suited for my audience and used that on my DPS before uploading it as my final product.
