Photographic Skills

Manual Focus features	Y		I have used this in the photos I have taken for my photo shoot as it allows me to check the detail of an image to see if it is all in focus.
Shutter Speed	Y		I have used shutter speeds when I took images of people jumping down stairs and walking across the shot.

Continuous shoot mode	Y		I have used this mode on the camera to take a series of images as my model blew up bubble gum it was able to capture the images swiftly and they can be seen on my blog.
A tripod	Y		I used the tripod when I was taking pictures for my shutter speeds images. I placed the camera on the tripod to make it focused by removing human errors.
External flash	Y		I had external flashes in my photo shoot images as I had a soft-box involved in my photo shoot.

Text control	Y		I have used the text control to move and create the headlines and sell lines on my magazine front cover.

Brushes	Y		I have used the brushes tool on photo shop when I created a CD cover for a band. These images are on my blog as part of my project.
Layers	Y		I learned to use the layers tool on photo-shop whilst I was working on my front cover as I had to have the image and different text layers above and below each other.
Opacity control	Y		I have used opacity control when I created a retro looking image which can be seen on my blog.
Shape creation	Y		I have used this to create the buttons on my front cover of my magazine to place text in such as the price of the magazine.
Brightness and contrast control	Y		I used these in photo-shop when I was changing my front cover image of my magazine to make the image look better.
Gradients	Y		I have used the gradients when filling a section of the image rather than fill the whole layer.
Load selection features	Y		I have used this when loading work and selecting the specific source options.
Feathering	Y		I have used feathering on my vingetting image to make the image less solid.
Colour curves adjustment	Y		I have used this on my images when I was colour correcting them. Changing the line shape to affect the colours on the image, it is shown on my blog on my retro images.

Magnetic lasso, polygon lasso tool	Y		I have used this on the image when I created a vampire face to change the teeth to make them pointy this can be seen on my blog.
Cropping tool	Y		I have used the crop tool on my DPS images to make the images fit the frame by cropping out the subject and cutting the unneeded background.
Clone tool	Y		I have used this on the spot removing image as it cloned the ‘clear’ skin across the face to make it all the same, this can be seen on my blog.
Retouch tool	Y		I have used this tool in photo-shop to edit the spotted face of an image it was used with the healing brush to remove the spots from the face and can be seen on my blog.
Other skills	Y		I learned a range of skills throughout my time of working with photo-shop and learned along with this range of skills that I could manipulate the features of images by using different filters such as liquify also I learned how to cut out pieces of an image and duplicate them in the same area to place over something this is done on my front cover as I cut out a sections of my models are and duplicated it over the text and bar at the side of my image.

In Design Skills

Which of the following features of In Design have you used before:

Margin and column guide creation	Y		I used this before starting my DPS to ensure that I knew where my text and images would be placed on my product it helped me to piece together my final product.
Inserting an image ID	Y		I learned to do this in my first try at in-design as I placed the image box and then placed the image into the box. It can be seen on my blog.
Resizing images in ID	Y		I used this in my final product as I had to make the images fit on the page together so I used this skill to ensure I could make the DPS images fit how I wanted them to.
Text manipulation – resizing, rotation	Y		I used this throughout my DPS as I resized the title and kicker of the article and made the article smaller, aswell as rotation the text on my breakout boxes.
Text manipulation – controlling kerning and leading	Y		I used this skill on the kicker of my final DPS product to bring the text closer together.
Text flow creation	Y		I used this skill in both my final DPS and the first attempt as I learned how to drag the text from one text box and place it into another if it did not all fit into one.
Using transparent imagery in ID	Y		I used this for my image boxes and the background of the DPS as I had them all kept transparent so that I could create my DPs from scratch and it would show if I had any missing spaces on my page.
Shape/line creation In design	Y		I used this skill on my caption boxes and images at the top of the pages so that the eye lines of the reader would be drawn back into the article after looking at them or reading the caption sections.
Exporting to PDF from In-design	Y		I learned to do this along with my final product as I could export the DPS to upload it as my final product, It would change any texts that were copyright so I had to check the PDF file to make sure nothing had changed and then I could submit the DPS as my final product. It allowed the spreads (all 3 pages) to be exported as one file.
Text Wrap	Y		I used this to wrap the article text around my caption boxes meaning the text would continue to flow and not be overlapping the boxes.
Other Skills	Y		In In-design I learned how to create drop caps in my article and how I could merge two boxes so that when I moved them they would move together.
